MG Windsor EV EV Pro : On account of its great packaging and fantastic value proposition, the MG Windsor EV EV is currently India’s bestselling EV. And now MG has taken its practicality up a notch with this all new variant. This is the MG Winter EV Pro. It is fitted with a 52.9 kWh battery pack. It has a claim range of 449 km on a full charge. And in this video, we’re going to give you all the details. So stay tuned.
Exterior Design & Road Presence of MG Windsor EV ev
The Pro retains the Windsor EV’s unique design with elements that combine influences from MPVs, hatchbacks, as well as SUVs. Its 186 mm ground clearance remains unchanged and overall its monoo volume silhouette and substantial girth continue to lend it an impressive road presence. Uniquely with this variant, the brand also introduced three new colors. Its new 18-in alloy wheels are similar to those on the MG Hector and an Adas badge on its boot differentiated from its smaller battery version.
Interior Experience & Cabin Upgrades
Dual-Tone Cabin & Materials

Exclusive to this Pro variant is the ivory and black two-tone color scheme for the seats as well as the armrest. Now, this color scheme not only enhances the cabin’s sense of space, but it also breaks the monotone of the all black cabin available with the lower variants. And while it certainly makes the cabin look up market, it will warrant some special effort on your part to keep it clean and free of smudge and dust marks.
And while on that topic, these tufted leather seats certainly look luxurious. However, if I’m being completely honest, the cushioning is on the firmer side, and it doesn’t feel as comfortable as it looks.
Dashboard & Screen Layout
The cabin sports a predominantly black color scheme accented with dark brown wood like plastic inserts on the dashboard, center console, and doors. Champagne gold elements and ambient lighting further enhance the interior’s character. Interestingly, the circular champagne gold speaker grill-like decorations on the door are purely aesthetic as the actual speakers are mounted lower.
Infotainment System & User Interface
Even this variant continues to get this enormous 15.6 in infotainment screen with pretty much all the functions of the car relegated to this system. Now, with so many options, so many icons, and so many functions to choose from, the screen can feel a bit complicated. And quite honestly, it can overwhelm certain users. Even simple functions like activating ventilated seats, turning on the headlamps, and opening the sun shade require a minimum two taps on the screen, which isn’t ideal. So, you will have to spend a good amount of time understanding and working your way through the system.
One issue that I have is that every time you start the car, this screen takes a good minute, minute and a half to boot up. And as a result, if you’re the type who will start the car and immediately reverse out of your parking slot, you will have to rely on your skill rather than the parking camera display, which will take some time to boot up.
Practicality & Rear Seat Comfort
In terms of practicality, the MG Windsor EV Pro, MG electric cars, MG EV review, Windsor EV Pro range, MG EV features, MG Windsor battery, MG ADAS review, EV buying guide India, electric SUV review, MG Motors India, long range EV India, MG Windsor 2025, electric car comparison India, best EVs in India, MG Windsor ev Pro features
offers ample storage options, including door pockets, two cup holders on the dashboard, a floating center console, and a sizable storage compartment below.
If you’re considering the MG Bins EV as a chauffeerdriven car, you’ll be happy to know that there is enough and more space on offer in terms of knee room, in terms of footroom, headroom, and even its width. In addition, the rear seat is more comfortable than the front seat thanks to its softer seat base. And even the back rest recines up to 45°, taking the comfort that much further.
One thing that I miss in this rangetop pro variant is the inclusion of rear sun shades. Now that would have really completed the rear experience.
Boot Space & Storage
With its subwoofer beneath the boot floor, the Windsor’s 579 L boot is among the largest in the midsize segment with a deep layout and an adjustable floor. Notably, while there is space allocated beneath the floor, neither variant comes with a spare tire as standard, though it can be added as an optional extra, much like the parcel shelf. And a new feature added to the MG Windsor EV Pro variant is a powered tailgate.
Features & ADAS Technology

This Pro variant not only retains all the features of the topsp spec Sense variant, but it also includes autonomous driver assistance systems or ADAS, which we’ll talk about in more detail in a bit. For an otherwise welle equipped car, this MG misses a rear wiper and washer as well as rear sun lines. Also new with the Pro variant is V2V as well as V2L where you can charge an appliance or an entire car using your Windsor EV Pro.
Performance & Driving Dynamics
Motor Output & Power Delivery
Coming to the drive experience, the electric motor remains unchanged. It still produces 136 horsepower and 200 new m of torque. And just like the standard MG Winter EV, it feels smooth and gradual in its power delivery. Responses are not electrifying or not super instant. So, it doesn’t feel uncomfortable. In fact, it feels very predictable in the way this car accelerates.
Gradual it might be, but performance feels peppy and more than adequate for urban as well as highway applications.
Drive Modes & Regenerative Braking
Now, like the standard Windsor EV, this has four drive modes. The top speed in Eco+ is limited to 80 km/h, 82 km/h if you go by the speedometer reading. And the top speed in the other three modes is 153 km/h based on a GPS timing gear.
There are three levels of regenerative braking too, light, medium, and heavy. And the regen or the deceleration feels very natural every time you lift your leg off the accelerator pedal.
What this car does miss though is a one pedal driving mode. Now, in any of the three modes, this car will come down to a crawl at around 10 km/h, but from there on, you will have to use the brake pedal in order to come to a complete halt. And there are no steering mounted paddle shifters or there’s no easy access to change the regen modes while on the move. You will have to go through some of the menu settings and distract yourself.
Weight & Handling
With the Windsor EV Pro, its curb weight has gone up by 93 kilos. So now the Windsir EV Pro tips the scales at 1,659 kg. Despite its 1.65 ton curb weight, the Windsor EV Pro handles in a very neutral manner. Its steering is quite light. Its wheels are spread to the extremes of the car. So, it has a long wheelbase, a wide track, and an overall squad stance. And as a result, body roll is well in check.
The steering is another highlight. It feels light and effortless in city conditions and offers adequate weight as speeds increase.
The winter suspension is on the firmer side. So at low speeds, the ride is a bit busy and even at higher speeds, it doesn’t feel as planted or as well settled as, let’s say, a Tata Nexon EV.
ADAS Performance – Real World Impressions
New to the Windsor EV Pro is Adas. This car finally gets a suit of autonomous driver assistance systems such as adaptive cruise control, auto highbeam assist, lane keep assist, and a lot more. In the limited time that we’ve spent with this car, the adaptive cruise control felt a bit erratic in its operation. Even the lane keep assist doesn’t always detect the lanes, and on the sharper curves, it does get a bit confused.
So, at least on first impressions, these driver assistance systems didn’t seem fully sorted or well tuned for our road conditions. But on wide openen expressways, these ADS functions will help the driver and reduce driver fatigue. And hey, you always have the option to turn all these features off when you want to take full control of your car.
Price Increase & Market Position
As we speak, MG has increased the prices of this pro variant by rupees 60,000, making it over two lakh pricier than the Topswag Sense version with a smaller battery pack.
Final Verdict
So, the MG Winster EV Pro builds on to the strengths of the standard EV. Yes, MG should have simplified the user experience and made the touchscreen a lot easier to operate. Yes, its refinement could have been better and the seat cushioning could have been improved. But when you look at it from a broader perspective, its positives outweigh its negatives by a huge margin.
This car is very easy to drive. It’s smooth. It’s predictable. It’s spacious. It’s practical. It’s feature loaded. And now with more range, it’s become an even better cruiser than it already was.
So all in all, if you were looking for a family nononsense electric vehicle at this price point, the MGS EV Pro is very easy to recommend.
