Kia Kia Ev6 GT-Line : So the gurus the experts the professionals that run electrif have told me something important that the most searched term on the site is Kia Kia Ev6 so naturally this review is about the Kia Ev6 otherwise that intro would have made no sense at all.

How Do You Define the Kia Ev6?
The Kia Ev6 has always been a hard car to Define I me what is it it’s not really an SUV or a traditional five door hatchback it’s sort of in between the two but that means it offers some of the best bits of both including the practicality and slightly raised driving position that we all like with the greater efficiency which comes from a sleeker lower body.
Exterior Design Updates
Subtle Yet Meaningful Restyling

So this new version has had quite a subtle restyling a okay very subtly reselling let me help you with it uh this is the first thing that I think we’ve got to talk about this new star map design um LED lights that kind of look like a constellation which I think is a very nice touch and it is also a nod to the Kia ev9 which is where you will find this styling now.

Now this is the GT line and you can see it’s got slightly sportier front and rear bumpers and it also has one of these a new light bar at the front which I feel like is popping up more and more often in electric cars at the moment I like it but why is everyone suddenly doing it.
The fog lights are now down here vertical little LED strips which very Loosely remind me of a Formula One car very Loosely.
Interior Quality and Materials
No Piano Black – Finally
Now I think this is going to be the best part about the car take a look around here and tell me what is missing have a good look put it in the comments below be honest put it in the comments below before you watch the next part of this video what is missing.
There’s no piano black there’s no shiny black surfaces to put my sticky fingerprints all over and smudge and make look horrible it’s amazing it looks fantastic in here.
And get okay Manos has a point there is a tiny bit of piano black shiny black plastic here but I’m not going to be putting my fingers up there am I I’m going to put my fingers down here so this is the bit that matters thanks.
But seriously look look look how good this material is I’m putting my fingers all over it and it still looks what now damn it okay apart from up here and the one place that you have to press all the time with a p.
Fingerprint Start Technology
But there is another bit of interesting news so you know how you used to be able to start cars using your phone well now at the touch of your fingerprint you can get it started using your fingerprint and you can use different fingerprints to have different personalized settings.
So if another loved one might jump in the car use their fingerprint it will be set up to their settings love it love it.
My question to Kia is that we’ve used phones we’re now using fingers is that what’s next.
Driving Position and Cabin Layout

Maybe now I do like this there’s a sportiest steering wheel design and a bit of an update to the dashboard plus you still have quite a snug driving position with this raise center console which is very different to the open cockpit of SUVs and the Kia’s sister car from Hyundai.

Oh the other thing worth noting is this the wiress charging for your phone is now faster.
The twin infotainment screens are linked together to form a single display and the system is really intuitive and nice and easy to use for the facelifted model Kia has improved the processing speed which means there was a bit of a small lag that could sometimes affect the previous system but that has all but disappeared now.
Rear Seat Comfort
Now back here it is it’s a nice-ish place to be um you’ve got a pretty decent amount of space here then you’ve got your lovely two USBC ports nice flat floor door so the middle person still gets a decent amount of leg room.
Three headrests too so actually the middle person is actually considered a real person.
The one thing obviously that you’re going to notice is that because you have that lovely Sleek roof line from the outside you also suffer from the inside so it is a little bit lower here it does feel a little bit smaller even though you do have some good leg room.
Boot Space and Practicality

Now this is where the Kia Kia Ev6 loses out a little bit because for what is quite a long car actually has quite a long boot but quite a shallow boot so we’re only looking at 490 lers here.
Which if you compare it to something like a scod ENC Coupe which has 585 lers then this Falls a little bit short.
Vehicle to Load Feature
Now one little trick it has up its sleeve is vehicle to load charging so using this little adapter here we can plug it in and it has capabilities of charging up to 3.6 Kow which is enough to charge another car.
And guess what there’s another three pin plug down here perfect if you want to pop the kettle on charge your laptop or I am going to admit it using my hair straightness.
Frunk and AWD Limitation
So it comes to the frankk but because this is all-wheel drive the frunk is actually really quite small and I would say probably not really usable for anything.
I wouldn’t even put my cables in there because in the boot um there’s a little storage for the cables under the floor so I would say it’s pretty irrelevant and unusable in that size.
Battery, Range and Performance
Now you have to drive the car now you know now there are more upgrades underneath the big news is the battery capacity which is increased from 77.4 kwatt hours to 84.
That means of course a high range and with this gtline twin motor squeezing 339 M out of a charge you’re not going to be struggling with range anxiety.
The single version gets even more at 361 Mi.
Now when it comes to power and performance the rear wheeel drive model has 225 brake horsepower to be Unleashed but this the all-wheel drive has a rather impressive 330 brake horsepower and not to 62 mph in just 5.3 seconds wow.
Ride Quality and Suspension
Now one of the changes that they’ve made to the Kia Ev6 is the suspension specifically the damping.
What that means is particularly at low speeds on bumpy roads like this it’s still nice and smooth to drive and I must say this car is comfortable it’s a really nice drive.
Regen and Drive Modes
Now let’s talk about regen cuz you got paddles and of course you can change the regen settings at the touch of a button on your panel so you got 0 1 two three I pedal Max.
Now let’s test out some of the different Drive modes we are currently in normal I was just in Eco now popped into normal already feel a little bit of extra power there.
And then whoa hello we’re in sport mode that was a bit of a boost wasn’t it uh I felt that.
Charging Technology
Bit of a shame that a heat pump is still an option option and it’s actually only available on the top models.
The 800 volt technology has been honed though improving the already impressive charging performance it now tops out at 258 KW.
That means a 10 to 80% charge takes just 18 minutes 15 minutes is enough to add 214 miles.
Final Verdict
Right time for a bit of a conclusion on this one now the original Kia Kia Ev6 which was already very popular with you guys and I agree because it sort of moved the whole game on didn’t it.
Certainly in terms of charging speeds um but these subtle changes on this newer model have made the car look just a bit less awkward definitely improved the package as a whole.
We’ve also seen upgrades to the interior upgrades to the suspension and the infotainment system which has just sort of rounded off some of the rough edges that we had on the original model.
But this is the crunch point it doesn’t come cheap the range starts at 4,575 but this is actually the all-wheel drive GT line S and it’s still one of my favorites is it yours let me know in the comments.
