Honda Unicorn 160 : Unbreakable Comfort, Refinement & Trust – Ultimate Legendary Review

Honda Unicorn 160 : Brother, it is touching 99 in third gear. So hello guys, once again welcome back to the Blog. How are you all doing? I hope everyone is doing absolutely great.

Guys, today I have with me a legendary motorcycle from Honda. This is the Honda Unicorn 160. In this review, I am going to give you a proper detailed review of this motorcycle.

Overall Overview

Before that, let me give you a quick overview of the bike. First of all, look at the design. Even today, there is no change in the design language. It looks exactly the same as it used to earlier.

The motorcycle you are seeing in front of you is the matte grey color. It is a very beautiful color, and this motorcycle is truly a legend.

Design Philosophy

In today’s 160cc segment, there are many competitors with very sporty designs and fast-looking motorcycles.

But even today, if you want a clean design and you want Honda’s reliability, then this is the one.

Variants and Pricing

Currently, this motorcycle is available only in a single variant. If I talk about the on-road price, it comes to around ₹1,44,000.

The price can vary depending on different cities and states, so you should check according to your location.

Front Look and Lighting

You can check out the front section now. The headlamp has been updated. Earlier it used to be halogen, but now it has been upgraded to LED.

You also get a front mask with chrome finishing, which makes the bike look slightly more premium.

Instrument Cluster and Features

The next update is the instrument cluster. Now you get a fully digital meter, similar to what we see on the SP160.

You get RPM range, gear position indicator, speedometer, warning lights, trip meter, and battery voltage information.

The bike comes with single-channel ABS, and you also get its indication on the meter.

Wheels, Tyres and Ground Clearance

I think this is still the only motorcycle in the 160cc segment that comes with 18-inch alloy wheels at both front and rear.

At the front, you get an 80/100 tubeless tyre. At the rear, the tyre size is 100/90.

The ground clearance is a massive 187 mm, so taking it on bad roads will not be an issue.

Engine Specifications

The motorcycle gets a 162.9cc single-cylinder, four-stroke, air-cooled engine with a five-speed gearbox. It is BS6 Phase 2 and OBD2 compliant.

It produces a maximum power of 13 PS at 7500 RPM and 14.6 Nm of torque at 5250 RPM.

The kerb weight is around 139 kg, which gives it a very good power-to-weight ratio.

Performance and Refinement

The engine feels extremely refined. It honestly feels like riding an electric vehicle because of how smooth it is.

This is not just because the motorcycle is new. Even after five years, you will still feel the same level of refinement.

The mid-range performance is extremely strong, and the tall gear ratios are impressive. Touching 99 km/h in third gear says a lot about this machine.

Riding Comfort and Ergonomics

If we talk about riding posture, this motorcycle is one of the most comfortable in the segment.

The seat cushioning is very good, the handlebar position is upright, and the foot pegs are neutrally placed.

This setup makes it perfect for long rides as well as daily commuting.

Handling and Turning Radius

The handling is not very sharp like Apache or Pulsar, but for daily riding, it is excellent.

The turning radius is very good. The bike turns easily without putting your foot down, and the body balance is excellent.

Braking Performance

At the front, you get a 240 mm disc brake, and at the rear, a 130 mm drum brake.

The bike comes with single-channel ABS, which is more than enough for a 160cc motorcycle and gives good confidence.

The braking is progressive. Even with single-finger braking, you get good control.

Suspension Setup

The front suspension is telescopic, and the rear gets a monoshock.

This motorcycle has one of the best suspension setups. You hardly feel potholes or rough patches.

The suspension is neither too soft nor too hard, making it perfect for Indian road conditions.

Mileage and Practicality

The fuel tank capacity is 13 litres.

You can easily expect a mileage of around 40 to 50 kmpl, depending on your riding style.

The fully covered chain makes daily maintenance easier, especially during the rainy season.

Final Verdict

If you do not want a very sporty motorcycle and instead want a relaxed, comfortable, and reliable bike, then this is a great option.

Low maintenance, high comfort, excellent refinement, and long-term reliability make the Honda Unicorn 160 a true legend even today.
