Hey guys, welcome back to my blog.
Today we have the 2025 Kia Sonet HTX 1.5L Diesel.
This is one of the rarest variants because, in most dealerships, you’ll mostly find Petrol or Turbo Petrol models, and Diesel is not easily available.
Luckily, we got this one today — so I thought, why not make a article for you guys?
So let’s begin this video.
We’ll explore everything about the HTX 1.5 Diesel, including interior, exterior, and finally, I’ll share the on-road price as well.
Let’s start the review without wasting a single minute.
Front Design and Engine Options
So guys, let’s start the review.
Here you can see this is the 2025 Kia Sonet HTX Diesel 1.5.
Talking about the engine options, you get both Turbo Petrol and Diesel variants.
When it comes to design, it’s well-balanced and proportionate.
As compared to the Hyundai Venue, I find this design much more proportional and muscular.
What do you think about this design? Do let me know in the comments section.
Front Elements and Lighting Setup

Starting with the headlamps, you get a full LED setup along with Daytime Running Lights (DRLs) and indicators.
Currently, indicators are turned ON, so the DRLs are OFF. Once you turn off the indicators, DRLs resume automatically.
You also get fog lamps in halogen format, while LED fog lamps are provided as well.
You’ll find parking sensors neatly integrated into the front bumper.

The front grille is finished in piano black with a silver surround, and the Kia badge sits proudly in the center.
Moving below, you’ll see the lower bumper area with silver skid plates that enhance its rugged look.
However, there’s no front parking camera on this variant.
So, this is the overall front look of the 2025 Kia Sonet HTX Diesel.

Side Profile and Wheel Design

Now, moving towards the side profile — from the side too, the car looks sporty and attractive.
You get wheel cladding all around, and the front tyres are Apollo brand.
The tyre profile is 256 radial, with stylish alloy wheels.

The front features disc brakes, along with ABS and EBD for safety.
The ORVMs are body-colored, with integrated turn indicators, electric adjust, and auto-folding function.
The window belt line is finished in matte black, not piano black.
Even the C-pillar has a matte black finish.
On the top, you’ll notice roof rails adding to the SUV stance.
Door handles are body-colored with a request sensor for keyless entry.
The rear door handles are the same — body-colored and neatly finished.
Rear tyres are also Apollo, same 256 radial profile, with disc brakes at the rear too.
All four wheels get ABS + EBD, ensuring great braking performance.
So that’s the overall side profile.
How does the side profile look to you? Let me know in the comments.
Rear Design and Boot Space

Now, let’s move to the rear profile.
No doubt, from the rear too, it looks cool and sporty, thanks to the connected LED tail lamps.
At the top, you’ll see a shark-fin antenna, roof spoiler, and high-mount stop lamp.

There’s also a rear defogger, wiper, and washer.
The connected tail lamps add a premium look, and you’ll also find Sonet and Kia badging at the back.
The rear bumper is in matte black with reflectors, rear parking sensors, and silver skid plates.
The reverse camera is neatly placed in the center.
So, this is the overall rear profile of the Kia Sonet HTX Diesel.

Boot Space and Practicality
Opening the electromagnetic tailgate, you’ll find a parcel shelf and 60:40 split rear seats.
A boot lamp in halogen format is provided, along with a shopping hook on the right side.
The overall boot space is decent — you can fit medium-sized suitcases easily.
There’s a slight loading lip, but it’s not inconvenient.
So, that was the boot area. Now, let’s move to the interior section.
nterior and Cabin Experience
Before entering, let’s check the door panel.
The door features black and off-white dual-tone theme with silver inside handles.
All power window controls are placed on the driver’s side, with auto function for the driver window only.
You also get central locking, window lock, and ORVM control switches.

The armrest area has a soft-touch feel, with bottle holder and speaker placement at the bottom.
The AC vents have silver surrounds, and nearby you’ll find engine start-stop button, traction control, front parking sensor toggle, auto start-stop, and headlight leveling control.

The seats are dual-tone with adjustable headrests and provide excellent comfort.

The seat adjustments are manual.
Dashboard and Features Overview

Once inside, you’ll notice a premium-looking dashboard.
The steering wheel is a three-spoke unit with media controls on the left and cruise control plus instrument cluster navigation on the right.
The wiper controls are on the right stalk, while headlight controls are on the left.
The instrument cluster displays speedometer, tachometer, fuel gauge, temperature indicator, and more, including trip meter, odometer, average fuel consumption, etc.

Since this is a diesel variant, the tachometer redlines at 6000 RPM.
Infotainment and Connectivity

The center console houses an 8-inch touchscreen display supporting Android Auto and Apple CarPlay — both wirelessly.
Below it, you’ll find AC vents and single-zone automatic climate control.
Further down, there’s a wireless charging pad, Type-A and Type-C ports, and a 12V socket.

You get a 6-speed manual transmission, manual handbrake, twin cup holders, and a driver armrest with decent storage.

The glove box also provides a good amount of space.
Roof Console and Sunroof

At the top, the sun visors come with a mirror on the passenger side (no light) and a ticket holder on the driver’s side.
You get manual IRVM, reading lamps, sunglass holder, and controls for the electric single-pane sunroof.
Overall, the interior feels premium, comfortable, and feature-loaded.
Rear Seat Comfort and Space

Let’s check out the rear seats.
The rear doors follow the same dual-tone black and off-white theme with silver handles and power window controls.
There’s bottle space, soft-touch area, and speaker placement at the bottom.
The rear seats get two adjustable headrests and a center armrest (which couldn’t be opened here due to packaging).
Seat comfort is very nice, but the legroom is slightly limited compared to competitors like the Venue.
However, for average-height passengers, it’s still comfortable.
You get rear AC vents, two Type-C charging ports, and storage space.
The roof lining is light-colored with halogen reading lamps and grab handles on both sides.
Headroom is ample and comfortable even for tall passengers.

Let’s talk about pricing now:
- Ex-Showroom Price: ₹12,55,900
- TCS (1%): ₹12,559
- Road Tax (5 years): ₹6,975
- Insurance: ₹5,987
- On-Road Price (West Bengal – Kolkata): ₹13,91,761

- So overall, you’ll be paying close to ₹14 lakh on-road for this car.
Should You Buy It?
If you want premium features, strong
diesel performance, and your running is high, then definitely go for the Diesel variant.
However, if your running is low, I’d recommend the Petrol variant, because owning a diesel car won’t make much sense in that case.
